The ICNIRS2017 meeting, which ran from Sunday 11 to Thursday 15 June, was held in the Bella Center for a feature-packed four-day conference with the theme “NIR Spectroscopy at work in industry”. The main scientific programme was split into 8 topics: Chemometrics; Dairy and Food; Pharma and Biotech; Water, Soil and Environment; PAT; Agriculture; Theory and Instrumentation; Hyperspectral Imaging. A total of 502 participant were attending the ICNIRS2017 conference and the sponsor interest and support was excellent with 2 platinum and 14 gold sponsors. On top the ICNIRS society were able to support with a large number of student travel awards and the ICNIRS2017 organizers made the full pre-conference course program available for them. The pre-conference was hosted by University of Copenhagen and was designed as a one track going from Fundamentals of NIRS (Jim de Haseth), Sampling (Anders Larsen), Essentials for industrial-level NIRS application (Phil Williams), Calibration (Åsmund Rinnan and Rasmus Bro) and to the use of NIRS in process analytical technology (Frans van den Berg).

It has been a great pleasure to host you at the 18th International Conference on Near Infrared Spectroscopy and we look much forward to meet you all again in Gold Coast, Australia, in September 2019.
